Dillard begins "blog" to gain readers' input
"Doug Dillard has launched a "blog" to help gather
first-hand input on a massive project that he says will probably take the rest of
his life.
That "life-size project"
is a book, an interactive CD-ROM, and a website that will chronicle the
massive changes that took place in society, churches, the nation, and the
world, during the 30 years he drew editorial cartoons for The Baptist
Standard.
"The blog will crosslink with my "Brother Blotz" website," said Dillard.
"But the blog format, which uses the popular Typepad.com software
package, is much friendlier to reader participation.
The book, which will be aimed at the popular market, will contain a
collection of favorite editorial cartoons that portray the channels of
change. The CD-ROM will be a serious researcher's tool containing all the
nearly 1,500 cartoons into an interactive database that is searchable by
date, editorial topic, issue, institutions and persons involved. The website
will try to take the best of both and portray the subjects in a
user-friendly manner. |
