| Doug
Dillard began cartooning "as an accident" in 1957 while minister of education in
a Baptist church in San Antonio, Texas. "Brother Blotz" broke into print in
April, 1961 in Baptist Program magazine. That same year he began syndicating
cartoons to churches for use in their bulletins and newsletters. Within the next three
years, Dillard developed 13 features that appeared in 26 magazines. "PulpiTEARS,"
based on readers' contributions of true, embarrassing incidents that happen in church,
began in 1965, and Dillard has been on the banquet circuit ever since doing live
presentations of his collection of hundreds of true, embarrassing "PulpiTEARS." |
| The Flip Side of
Doug Dillard
While most people know Doug Dillard as
"the cartoonist," there is a "flip side." Or many sides. "I've
never been able to say with the Apostle Paul, 'This one thing I do,'" says Doug,
"but 'these 40 things I dabble in.'" There are some surprising things in that
list. If you want to know about the "flip side" of Doug, click here." Or for still more, click here and you'll find some news about current activities.
